Commercialization of Novel Battery Technology: Richman Chemical Possesses Synthetic Expertise for Inorganic, Polymer, and MOF Target Compounds

New battery technology has become a frequent subject of scientific news articles and press releases from start-up companies. Electric vehicles, aerospace advancements and clean energy are examples of markets in need of elevated battery performance. Richman Chemical Inc. (RCI) effectively aids companies in this space, as we specialize in supplying custom organometallics, inorganics, polymers, polymer electrolyte and metal organic frameworks (MOFs) for development, scale-up, and commercial supply.

Next-generation battery development companies are focused on boosting the performance and durability of Lithium (Li)-based chemistries. A typical approach is to use next generation polymer electrolytes to increase energy density. These materials include solvent-free polymer electrolytes (SPEs), gel polymer electrolytes (GPEs) and composite polymer electrolytes (CPEs). Novel polymer-based solid electrolytes also include the advantages of low flammability, good flexibility, excellent thermal stability, and improved safety.

Composite solid-state electrolytes and inorganic ceramic electrolytes continue to gain traction for energy storage by offering enhanced ionic conductivity and excellent cycling stability. Novel aqueous inorganic polymers are helping the development of promising Lithium-Sulfur (Li-S)-based batteries. RCI has a successful record of supplying custom ionic liquids and inorganic polymers to our clients.

Finally, MOF technologies continue to intrigue battery scientists. Specifically, this class of materials displays promise as a functional additive in high performance flow battery development.

Overall, RCI’s technical expertise and accumulated experience in the synthetic areas of organometallic, inorganic, polymer, and MOF preparation sets us apart from the competition. Please reach out to us today to discover how we can help your technology development, scale-up, and commercial production programs!

Featured Products and Services

Featured Unit Operations:

Organometallic Chemistry

RCI possesses a wealth of experience executing organometallic chemistry for our customers. Transition metal complexes often form the basis for key biological and life science applications, in addition to remaining quite important for electrochemical and catalyst applications. Our experience handling these compounds- along with the air-sensitivity that frequently accompanies them- makes us an excellent choice for your non-traditional synthesis needs!...Click here for more information.

Featured Unit Operations:

  • Freeze Drying

Sometimes also referred to as lyophilization (typically within the life science arena), dehydrating target material without thawing can often deliver preferred physical characteristics for the subject product. RCI offers this capability from lab-scale through manufacturing scale, and we can handle both aqueous and organic solvent-based requirements. GMP and/or sterile lyophilization are also offered to our clients... Click here for more information.

  • Sublimation

For compounds that may polymerize or decompose above their melting point, sublimation represents yet another innovative process solution for purification offered by RCI...Click here for more information.

  • Extraction

Richman Chemical handles toll extractions of all kinds and all scales...Click here for more information.
